New Toys, Take 1

First of the new toys: Buon Vino Minijet wine filter.

I had considered getting one for many months now but finally decided just to go do it. Should be interesting to see how effective it is vs. the fining agents I have been using. The final straw, I think, was trying to rack a one-gallon batch after treating it with Sparkolloid. No matter what I did, I couldn't keep the fine particulate from re-suspending in the must as I racked, and I wasn't going to wait another 4-8 weeks to let it re-settle.
